Just when they thought it was safe to pitch for the centre, along comes ConservativeHome's latest survey to reaffirm the old sterotypes.

This is what they are in favour of.

Political correctness is often stupid, people should be free to insult each other (although not discriminate or incite to violence). So long as they accept the fact that most people will see them for what they are, and those insulted can return the favour...

Of course we want freedom from crime, but I doubt UKIP's schemes are very liberal... I strongly suspect the hang-em and flog-em brigade to be strong.

The immigration nonsense is the most dangerous, and illiberal. The EU stuff... hyperbole mostly, but there are problems with the EU, withdrawal should be the very last option, we have plenty more options to exhaust first.

UKIP seem schizophrenic to me, they want freedom and a small state, but then want a strong state to counter crime and immigration.
